Welcome to ScamBuster. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of all products, platforms, and services operated by Mitt Arv Technologies Pte. Ltd. ("ScamBuster", "we", "us", or "our"), including:

  • The ScamBuster mobile application (Android and iOS).
  • The ScamBuster website at scambuster.app and any associated subdomains.
  • The ScamBuster Chrome Extension.
  • ScamBuster for Business, including the business dashboard and any related API or enterprise services.
  • Any other features, tools, or content made available through the foregoing platforms (collectively, the "Services")

By creating an account, downloading the app or extension, visiting the website, or otherwise accessing or using any part of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and Mitt Arv Technologies Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore.

ScamBuster is an AI-powered platform designed to help individuals and organisations detect, report, and stay informed about scams and fraudulent activity. The Services include, but are not limited to, the following offerings:

2.1 : Scam Detection Analysis

ScamBuster analyses phone numbers, messages, URLs, files, and other digital content to identify suspicious activity and potential scams. The platform generates insights and alerts to help Users recognise phishing attempts, SMS scams, spoofed communications, malicious links, and other forms of fraud.

2.2 : Community Reporting Feed

Users may anonymously share scam experiences through a community feed. This feature contributes to a collective database of scam reports, enabling the broader user community to stay informed about emerging threats. This feature is only available for Scambuster app.

2.3 : Educational Resources

ScamBuster provides informational content, guides, and tips covering common scam tactics, prevention strategies, and best practices for online and financial safety. This feature is only available for Scambuster app.

2.4 : AI-Powered Alerts and Notifications

The Services use artificial intelligence to generate real-time alerts and push notifications about potential scams identified through analysis of User-submitted content.

2.5 : Important Service Disclaimer

ScamBuster is designed to serve as a first line of defence against scams. However, the Services are a preventative tool and do not guarantee complete protection against all fraudulent activity. We recommend independently verifying information through official sources before taking action.

2.6 : Device Permission Clause

Certain features of the Services may require access to device permissions such as notifications, storage, or network data. These permissions are requested solely to enable core functionality and are used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

  1. Eligibility & User Requirements

3.1 : Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age, or the minimum legal age of majority in your applicable jurisdiction, to create an account or use the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you represent and warrant that you satisfy this requirement. If you are a minor, you may only use the Services under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

3.2 : Business Users

If you are accessing the Services on behalf of a company, organisation, or other legal entity ("Business User"), you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In such cases, "you" and "your" in these Terms refer to both the individual and the entity.

3.3 : Legal Compliance

You must not be prohibited from receiving or using the Services under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services complies with all laws and regulations applicable to you.

3.4 : Account Integrity

Your account must not have been previously suspended, disabled, or terminated by Mitt Arv for violation of these Terms or any applicable law. You warrant that you have not violated these Terms under any prior account.

3.5 : Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information during account registration and to promptly update such information to maintain its accuracy. You must not impersonate any person or entity, or create an account on behalf of another individual without their explicit authorisation.

  1. Permitted & Prohibited Use

4.1 : Permitted Use

You may use the Services solely for lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms. Permitted uses include:

  • Scanning suspicious messages, URLs, files, and phone numbers for scam indicators.
  • Reporting suspected scams through the community feature.
  • Accessing educational resources about scam prevention.
  • Receiving alerts and notifications about potential threats.
  • Using the Chrome Extension to identify potentially fraudulent websites while browsing.
  • Using ScamBuster for Business features to protect your organisation, subject to any applicable enterprise agreement.

4.2 : Prohibited Conduct

You agree that you shall not:

A) Unlawful Activity

  • Engage in any unlawful, misleading, or fraudulent activity
  • Use the Services for illegal or unauthorised purposes
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights

B) Misuse and System Interference

  • Interfere with or impair the intended operation of any part of the Services
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services, our systems, or data of other users
  • Use automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access the Services without our written consent
  • Submit false, fabricated, or misleading scam reports through the community feature

C) Chrome Extension Misuse

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Chrome Extension
  • Attempt to extract or intercept data processed by the Extension beyond its stated functionality
  • Use the Extension to perform unauthorised surveillance of third parties

D) Account and Credential Security

  • Share your login credentials or account access with unauthorised third parties
  • Solicit, collect, or misappropriate access credentials of other users
  • Transfer or attempt to transfer your account to another person without our written consent

E) Intellectual Property Infringement

  • Upload or transmit content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Create unauthorised copies of the Services or any of their components
  • Modify, adapt, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works based on the Services
  • Attempt to circumvent any technological protection measures

F) Harmful Content

  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, abusive, threatening, or hateful
  • Transmit viruses, malware, ransomware, or any code of a destructive or harmful nature
  • Send unsolicited commercial communications or spam through the Services

G) Commercial Misuse

  • Sell, licence, transfer, or purchase any account, username, or access rights without authorisation
  • Collect data from the Services for commercial purposes without our prior written consent
  • Resell, white-label, or redistribute the Services without a written agreement with Mitt Arv
  1. ScamBuster Chrome Extension — Specific Terms

5.1 : Installation and Permissions

By installing the ScamBuster Chrome Extension, you grant permissions necessary for scam detection functionality. The Extension accesses and processes only data that is strictly required for this purpose, such as URLs and limited contextual indicators of potentially fraudulent content. The Extension does not access, collect, or store unrelated browsing activity, personal messages, keystrokes, or sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary for scam detection, as further described in our Privacy Policy.

5.2 : Extension Updates

We may update the Chrome Extension from time to time to improve functionality, fix bugs, or address security vulnerabilities. Updates may be applied automatically through the Chrome Web Store.

5.3 : Third-Party Websites

The Chrome Extension analyses third-party websites as part of its scam-detection functionality. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party websites. An alert or the absence of an alert from the Extension does not constitute a warranty or endorsement regarding the safety or reliability of any website.

5.4 : Compatibility

The Extension is designed to operate on Google Chrome and compatible Chromium-based browsers. We do not guarantee compatibility with all browser versions or configurations, and are not liable for any issues arising from incompatible browser environments.

  1. ScamBuster for Business — Additional Terms

6.1 : Business Account Registration

To access ScamBuster for Business, you must register your account and provide accurate organisational details. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your business account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must promptly notify us of any unauthorised use of your business account.

6.2 : Authorised Users and Sub-Accounts

Business Users may create sub-accounts for individual employees or team members ("Authorised Users"). You are responsible for ensuring that all Authorised Users comply with these Terms. Any act or omission by an Authorised User that would constitute a breach of these Terms will be deemed a breach by you.

6.3 : API Access

Where API access is provided as part of ScamBuster for Business, you agree in good faith to:

  • Use the API solely for the purposes set out in your enterprise agreement or these Terms
  • Not exceed the usage limits or rate limits prescribed by us
  • Not resell, redistribute, or make the API available to third parties without our written consent
  • Maintain the security of API credentials and notify us immediately upon any suspected compromise

6.4 : No Guarantee of Outcomes

ScamBuster for Business provides tools to assist in scam detection and risk awareness. We do not guarantee that use of the Business Services will prevent all fraudulent activity, financial loss, or security incidents affecting your organisation. You remain solely responsible for your organisation's security policies and practices.

  1. Community Reporting and User-Generated Content

7.1 : Anonymous Sharing

ScamBuster allows Users to share scam reports anonymously through the community feed. By submitting a report, you understand that it may be viewed by other Users of the Services and incorporated into our scam database.

7.2 : Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for any content you submit. You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have all necessary rights to the content you submit
  • The content is accurate, truthful, and based on your genuine experience
  • The content does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights
  • You have not submitted content with the intent to mislead, defame, or harm any individual or organisation

We do not independently verify user-generated content and make no representations regarding its accuracy, completeness, or reliability.

7.3 : Licence to User Content

By submitting content to the community feature, you grant Mitt Arv a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, display, distribute, reproduce, and incorporate such content for the purposes of operating and improving the Services, enhancing our AI analysis capabilities, and helping other users stay safe from scams.

7.4 : Moderation

Mitt Arv reserves the right, but assumes no obligation, to review, moderate, edit, remove, or refuse any community content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our community standards. We are not liable for any content submitted by Users.

7.5 : Reporting & Removal

If you believe any content on the Services is unlawful, defamatory, or violates these Terms, you may report it through the in-app reporting tools or by contacting us at support@scambuster.app We will review such reports and take appropriate action within a reasonable timeframe.

  1. Refund & Cancellation Policy

As a general rule, the customer will not be entitled to any refund, however, under certain circumstances, the customer will be entitled to a refund which has been defined below.

8.1 : Monthly Subscription

Once payment for a monthly subscription has been made, no refunds will be issued. Customers are encouraged to carefully review their subscriptions before making payments.

8.2 : Annual Subscription

8.3 : Lack of Service

In the event that the customer is unable to access or use the services due to a verified and prolonged service outage attributable to Scambuster, the customer may be eligible for a pro-rated refund or service credit for the affected period. Such requests must be submitted in writing with reasonable details of the issue. Scambuster’s determination of service unavailability and eligibility for refund or credit shall be final.

8.4 : Refund Process

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to support@scambuster.app. Approved refunds will be processed within seven (7) business days of receiving the request.

8.5 : Cancellation Process

Customers may cancel their subscriptions at any time. However, cancellation does not entitle the customer to a refund except as outlined in this policy.

  1. Intellectual Property Rights

9.1 : Ownership

All components of the Services, including but not limited to the mobile applications, website, Chrome Extension, source code, software, databases, algorithms, designs, graphics, logos, trademarks, and content, are the exclusive property of Mitt Arv Technologies Pte. Ltd. or its licensors. All intellectual property rights are reserved.

9.2 : Limited Licence to Users

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services solely for personal, non-commercial purposes (or, in the case of Business Users, for internal business purposes) in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not include any right to sublicence, resell, or commercially exploit the Services.

9.3 : Restrictions

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publish, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, or sell any content, software, or services obtained from or through the ScamBuster platform without our prior written consent.

9.4 : Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Services, you grant Mitt Arv a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use such feedback without any obligation to compensate you or keep such feedback confidential.

  1. Accuracy and Limitations of the Services

10.1 : No Guarantee of Accuracy

ScamBuster's AI-powered detection tools are designed to assist in identifying potential scams. However, we do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of scam identification or analysis
  • That all scams will be detected, or that no false positives or false negatives will occur
  • That the Services will detect all emerging or novel forms of fraudulent activity

10.2 : User Responsibility

Your use of the Services is at your own risk. You agree to independently verify any alerts, warnings, or reports generated by the Services before taking action. We recommend cross-referencing outputs with official sources, regulatory guidance, and other trusted tools.

10.3 : Technical Limitations

The Services may be affected by human or technical errors, network outages, third-party service disruptions, and other factors beyond our control. We are not responsible for any failures or inaccuracies arising from such factors.

  1. Privacy and Data Collection

11.1 : Privacy Policy

Your use of the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, process, share, and protect your personal information. By using the Services, you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy.

11.2 : Community Reporting Feed

Where required under applicable laws or platform policies, ScamBuster will obtain your explicit consent before accessing device data, notifications, browser content, or other permissions. You may manage or revoke such permissions at any time through your device or browser settings. Continued use of certain features may depend on such permissions being enabled.

11.3 : Educational Resources

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Upon verification of your request, we will delete or anonymise your data unless retention is required by law.

  1. Subscription and Payment

12.1 : Free and Premium Features

ScamBuster offers certain features at no cost. Premium features and enhanced capabilities, including certain ScamBuster for Business tiers, are available via paid subscription or one-time purchase.

12.2 : Payment Terms

By subscribing to or purchasing any paid feature, you agree to the following:

  • Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated at the point of purchase or required by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction
  • Subscription fees are charged at the intervals (monthly, half-yearly or annual) specified at the time of purchase
  • We may update pricing with reasonable prior notice to Users
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or downgrade of premium or Business features

12.3 : Billing and Authorisation

You authorise us to charge your selected payment method for all applicable subscription fees and taxes. You are responsible for maintaining accurate and current billing information. We are not liable for any losses arising from incorrect billing information provided by you.

12.4 : Enterprise and Business Billing

Billing terms for ScamBuster for Business may be governed by a separate enterprise agreement. In the absence of such an agreement, the terms in this Section 11 apply.

  1. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

13.1 : "As-Is" Service

The Services are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mitt Arv expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and uninterrupted availability.

13.2 : No Liability for Scams or Losses

Mitt Arv is not responsible for:

  • Scams or fraudulent activities that occur despite your use of ScamBuster
  • Any financial losses, identity theft, or damages resulting from scams
  • Actions taken or not taken by you in reliance on alerts, warnings, or reports generated by the Services
  • The accuracy or completeness of community-reported scam information

13.3 : Third-Party Services and Links

The Services may integrate with, or link to third-party services, websites, or applications. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of such third-party services and do not endorse them.

13.4 : Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mitt Arv, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, profits, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Services. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

13.5 : Aggregate Liability Cap

Where liability cannot be fully excluded by law, our aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to Mitt Arv in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100 (or equivalent in local currency).

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mitt Arv Technologies Pte. Ltd., its officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the Services, including the Chrome Extension and ScamBuster for Business
  • Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any content you submit or share through the Services
  • Any false, misleading, or inaccurate information you provide to us or through the Services
  • Unauthorised use of your account by Authorised Users or third parties
  1. Modification and Termination

15.1 : Modification of Terms

Mitt Arv reserves the right to modify, update, or amend these Terms at any time. Where changes are material, we will notify you via in-app notification, email, or a notice on our website at least 14 days before the changes take effect (except where changes are required for legal or security reasons, in which case we may provide shorter notice). Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15.2 : Modification of Services

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services — including features, functionality, or availability of the Chrome Extension, Business dashboard, or mobile app — at our sole discretion, with or without notice. We will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice of material discontinuities.

15.3 : Termination by User

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at scambuster@mittarv.com or through the account settings in the application or website. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any prepaid subscription fees.

15.4 : Termination by Mitt Arv

Mitt Arv reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at any time, without notice, if you:

  • Violate these Terms or any applicable law
  • Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or prohibited conduct
  • Pose a security or operational risk to the Services or other users
  • Provide false or misleading registration information

15.5 : Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to access and use the Services immediately ceases. We may, at our discretion, delete account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 8, 12, 13, and 16, shall continue in full force and effect.

  1. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

17.1 : Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising from or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply and afford you greater protections, those laws shall apply to that extent.

17.2 : Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@scambuster.app to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We will use reasonable efforts to resolve the matter amicably within 30 days of receiving your complaint.

17.3 : Formal Dispute Resolution

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore under the Arbitration Rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC Rules"), which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference into this clause. The seat of arbitration shall be Singapore. The language of the arbitration shall be English. The tribunal shall consist of one arbitrator.

17.4 : Injunctive Relief

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek emergency or interim injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information pending the outcome of arbitration

  1. Miscellaneous Provisions

18.1 : Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable enterprise agreement or Data Processing Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mitt Arv with respect to the Services and supersede all prior and contemporaneous communications, representations, and agreements.

18.2 : Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

18.3 : Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing to be effective.

18.4 : Assignment

You may not assign, transfer, or delegate your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Mitt Arv may assign these Terms or any rights hereunder to any affiliate or successor entity, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, without your consent.

18.5 : Force Majeure

Mitt Arv shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance arising from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, pandemic, government orders, internet or network failures, or third-party service provider outages.

18.6 : Survival

Sections 7.3, 8, 12, 13, 16, and this Section 17 shall survive any expiration or termination of these Terms and your account.

18.7 : Language

These Terms are drafted in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using any part of the Services including the ScamBuster mobile application, the scambuster.app website, the Chrome Extension, or ScamBuster for Business — you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy
  • You understand the limitations and disclaimers applicable to the Services
  • You accept the limitations of liability set out herein
  • You will use the Services only for lawful and permitted purposes
  • You understand that the Services are a preventative tool and do not guarantee protection against all scams or fraudulent activity

  • Engage in any unlawful, misleading, or fraudulent activity
  • Use the Services for illegal or unauthorised purposes
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights

B) Misuse and System Interference

  • Interfere with or impair the intended operation of any part of the Services
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services, our systems, or data of other users
  • Use automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access the Services without our written consent
  • Submit false, fabricated, or misleading scam reports through the community feature

C) Chrome Extension Misuse

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Chrome Extension
  • Attempt to extract or intercept data processed by the Extension beyond its stated functionality
  • Use the Extension to perform unauthorised surveillance of third parties

D) Account and Credential Security

  • Share your login credentials or account access with unauthorised third parties
  • Solicit, collect, or misappropriate access credentials of other users
  • Transfer or attempt to transfer your account to another person without our written consent

E) Intellectual Property Infringement

  • Upload or transmit content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Create unauthorised copies of the Services or any of their components
  • Modify, adapt, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works based on the Services
  • Attempt to circumvent any technological protection measures

F) Harmful Content

  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, abusive, threatening, or hateful
  • Transmit viruses, malware, ransomware, or any code of a destructive or harmful nature

5.1 : Installation and Permissions

By installing the ScamBuster Chrome Extension, you grant permissions necessary for scam detection functionality. The Extension accesses and processes only data that is strictly required for this purpose, such as URLs and limited contextual indicators of potentially fraudulent content. The Extension does not access, collect, or store unrelated browsing activity, personal messages, keystrokes, or sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary for scam detection, as further described in our Privacy Policy.

5.2 : Extension Updates

We may update the Chrome Extension from time to time to improve functionality, fix bugs, or address security vulnerabilities. Updates may be applied automatically through the Chrome Web Store.

5.3 : Third-Party Websites

The Chrome Extension analyses third-party websites as part of its scam-detection functionality. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party websites. An alert or the absence of an alert from the Extension does not constitute a warranty or endorsement regarding the safety or reliability of any website.

5.4 : Compatibility

The Extension is designed to operate on Google Chrome and compatible Chromium-based browsers. We do not guarantee compatibility with all browser versions or configurations, and are not liable for any issues arising from incompatible browser environments.

  1. ScamBuster for Business — Additional Terms

6.1 : Business Account Registration

To access ScamBuster for Business, you must register your account and provide accurate organisational details. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your business account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must promptly notify us of any unauthorised use of your business account.

6.2 : Authorised Users and Sub-Accounts

Business Users may create sub-accounts for individual employees or team members ("Authorised Users"). You are responsible for ensuring that all Authorised Users comply with these Terms. Any act or omission by an Authorised User that would constitute a breach of these Terms will be deemed a breach by you.

6.3 : API Access

Where API access is provided as part of ScamBuster for Business, you agree in good faith to:

  • Use the API solely for the purposes set out in your enterprise agreement or these Terms
  • Not exceed the usage limits or rate limits prescribed by us
  • Not resell, redistribute, or make the API available to third parties without our written consent
  • Maintain the security of API credentials and notify us immediately upon any suspected compromise

6.4 : No Guarantee of Outcomes

ScamBuster for Business provides tools to assist in scam detection and risk awareness. We do not guarantee that use of the Business Services will prevent all fraudulent activity, financial loss, or security incidents affecting your organisation. You remain solely responsible for your organisation's security policies and practices.

  1. Community Reporting and User-Generated Content

7.1 : Anonymous Sharing

ScamBuster allows Users to share scam reports anonymously through the community feed. By submitting a report, you understand that it may be viewed by other Users of the Services and incorporated into our scam database.

7.2 : Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for any content you submit. You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have all necessary rights to the content you submit
  • The content is accurate, truthful, and based on your genuine experience
  • The content does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights
  • You have not submitted content with the intent to mislead, defame, or harm any individual or organisation

We do not independently verify user-generated content and make no representations regarding its accuracy, completeness, or reliability.

7.3 : Licence to User Content

By submitting content to the community feature, you grant Mitt Arv a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, display, distribute, reproduce, and incorporate such content for the purposes of operating and improving the Services, enhancing our AI analysis capabilities, and helping other users stay safe from scams.

7.4 : Moderation

Mitt Arv reserves the right, but assumes no obligation, to review, moderate, edit, remove, or refuse any community content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our community standards. We are not liable for any content submitted by Users.

7.5 : Reporting & Removal

If you believe any content on the Services is unlawful, defamatory, or violates these Terms, you may report it through the in-app reporting tools or by contacting us at support@scambuster.app We will review such reports and take appropriate action within a reasonable timeframe.

2.6 : Device Permission Clause

Certain features of the Services may require access to device permissions such as notifications, storage, or network data. These permissions are requested solely to enable core functionality and are used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

As a general rule, the customer will not be entitled to any refund, however, under certain circumstances, the customer will be entitled to a refund which has been defined below.

In the event that the customer is unable to access or use the services due to a verified and prolonged service outage attributable to Scambuster, the customer may be eligible for a pro-rated refund or service credit for the affected period. Such requests must be submitted in writing with reasonable details of the issue. Scambuster’s determination of service unavailability and eligibility for refund or credit shall be final.

8.4 : Refund Process

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to support@scambuster.app. Approved refunds will be processed within seven (7) business days of receiving the request.

Customers may cancel their subscriptions at any time. However, cancellation does not entitle the customer to a refund except as outlined in this policy.

10.2 : User Responsibility

Your use of the Services is at your own risk. You agree to independently verify any alerts, warnings, or reports generated by the Services before taking action. We recommend cross-referencing outputs with official sources, regulatory guidance, and other trusted tools.

10.3 : Technical Limitations

The Services may be affected by human or technical errors, network outages, third-party service disruptions, and other factors beyond our control. We are not responsible for any failures or inaccuracies arising from such factors.

You authorise us to charge your selected payment method for all applicable subscription fees and taxes. You are responsible for maintaining accurate and current billing information. We are not liable for any losses arising from incorrect billing information provided by you.

12.4 : Enterprise and Business Billing

Billing terms for ScamBuster for Business may be governed by a separate enterprise agreement. In the absence of such an agreement, the terms in this Section 11 apply.

Mitt Arv is not responsible for:

  • Scams or fraudulent activities that occur despite your use of ScamBuster
  • Any financial losses, identity theft, or damages resulting from scams
  • Actions taken or not taken by you in reliance on alerts, warnings, or reports generated by the Services
  • The accuracy or completeness of community-reported scam information

13.3 : Third-Party Services and Links

The Services may integrate with, or link to third-party services, websites, or applications. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of such third-party services and do not endorse them.

13.4 : Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mitt Arv, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, profits, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Services. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

13.5 : Aggregate Liability Cap

Where liability cannot be fully excluded by law, our aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to Mitt Arv in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100 (or equivalent in local currency).

These Terms and any dispute arising from or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply and afford you greater protections, those laws shall apply to that extent.

17.2 : Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@scambuster.app to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We will use reasonable efforts to resolve the matter amicably within 30 days of receiving your complaint.

17.3 : Formal Dispute Resolution

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore under the Arbitration Rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC Rules"), which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference into this clause. The seat of arbitration shall be Singapore. The language of the arbitration shall be English. The tribunal shall consist of one arbitrator.

17.4 : Injunctive Relief

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek emergency or interim injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information pending the outcome of arbitration

Sections 7.3, 8, 12, 13, 16, and this Section 17 shall survive any expiration or termination of these Terms and your account.

These Terms are drafted in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.

  1. ScamBuster Chrome Extension — Specific Terms

5.1 : Installation and Permissions

By installing the ScamBuster Chrome Extension, you grant permissions necessary for scam detection functionality. The Extension accesses and processes only data that is strictly required for this purpose, such as URLs and limited contextual indicators of potentially fraudulent content. The Extension does not access, collect, or store unrelated browsing activity, personal messages, keystrokes, or sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary for scam detection, as further described in our Privacy Policy.

5.2 : Extension Updates

We may update the Chrome Extension from time to time to improve functionality, fix bugs, or address security vulnerabilities. Updates may be applied automatically through the Chrome Web Store.

5.3 : Third-Party Websites

The Chrome Extension analyses third-party websites as part of its scam-detection functionality. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party websites. An alert or the absence of an alert from the Extension does not constitute a warranty or endorsement regarding the safety or reliability of any website.

5.4 : Compatibility

The Extension is designed to operate on Google Chrome and compatible Chromium-based browsers. We do not guarantee compatibility with all browser versions or configurations, and are not liable for any issues arising from incompatible browser environments.

  1. ScamBuster for Business — Additional Terms

6.1 : Business Account Registration

To access ScamBuster for Business, you must register your account and provide accurate organisational details. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your business account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must promptly notify us of any unauthorised use of your business account.

6.2 : Authorised Users and Sub-Accounts

Business Users may create sub-accounts for individual employees or team members ("Authorised Users"). You are responsible for ensuring that all Authorised Users comply with these Terms. Any act or omission by an Authorised User that would constitute a breach of these Terms will be deemed a breach by you.

6.3 : API Access

Where API access is provided as part of ScamBuster for Business, you agree in good faith to:

  • Use the API solely for the purposes set out in your enterprise agreement or these Terms
  • Not exceed the usage limits or rate limits prescribed by us
  • Not resell, redistribute, or make the API available to third parties without our written consent
  • Maintain the security of API credentials and notify us immediately upon any suspected compromise

6.4 : No Guarantee of Outcomes

ScamBuster for Business provides tools to assist in scam detection and risk awareness. We do not guarantee that use of the Business Services will prevent all fraudulent activity, financial loss, or security incidents affecting your organisation. You remain solely responsible for your organisation's security policies and practices.

  1. Community Reporting and User-Generated Content

7.1 : Anonymous Sharing

ScamBuster allows Users to share scam reports anonymously through the community feed. By submitting a report, you understand that it may be viewed by other Users of the Services and incorporated into our scam database.

7.2 : Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for any content you submit. You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have all necessary rights to the content you submit
  • The content is accurate, truthful, and based on your genuine experience
  • The content does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights
  • You have not submitted content with the intent to mislead, defame, or harm any individual or organisation

We do not independently verify user-generated content and make no representations regarding its accuracy, completeness, or reliability.

7.3 : Licence to User Content

By submitting content to the community feature, you grant Mitt Arv a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, display, distribute, reproduce, and incorporate such content for the purposes of operating and improving the Services, enhancing our AI analysis capabilities, and helping other users stay safe from scams.

7.4 : Moderation

Mitt Arv reserves the right, but assumes no obligation, to review, moderate, edit, remove, or refuse any community content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our community standards. We are not liable for any content submitted by Users.

7.5 : Reporting & Removal

If you believe any content on the Services is unlawful, defamatory, or violates these Terms, you may report it through the in-app reporting tools or by contacting us at support@scambuster.app We will review such reports and take appropriate action within a reasonable timeframe.

2.6 : Device Permission Clause

Certain features of the Services may require access to device permissions such as notifications, storage, or network data. These permissions are requested solely to enable core functionality and are used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

As a general rule, the customer will not be entitled to any refund, however, under certain circumstances, the customer will be entitled to a refund which has been defined below.

8.1 : Monthly Subscription

Once payment for a monthly subscription has been made, no refunds will be issued. Customers are encouraged to carefully review their subscriptions before making payments.

8.2 : Annual Subscription

8.3 : Lack of Service

In the event that the customer is unable to access or use the services due to a verified and prolonged service outage attributable to Scambuster, the customer may be eligible for a pro-rated refund or service credit for the affected period. Such requests must be submitted in writing with reasonable details of the issue. Scambuster’s determination of service unavailability and eligibility for refund or credit shall be final.

8.4 : Refund Process

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to support@scambuster.app. Approved refunds will be processed within seven (7) business days of receiving the request.

8.5 : Cancellation Process

Customers may cancel their subscriptions at any time. However, cancellation does not entitle the customer to a refund except as outlined in this policy.

Ltd. or its licensors. All intellectual property rights are reserved.

9.2 : Limited Licence to Users

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services solely for personal, non-commercial purposes (or, in the case of Business Users, for internal business purposes) in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not include any right to sublicence, resell, or commercially exploit the Services.

9.3 : Restrictions

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publish, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, or sell any content, software, or services obtained from or through the ScamBuster platform without our prior written consent.

9.4 : Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Services, you grant Mitt Arv a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use such feedback without any obligation to compensate you or keep such feedback confidential.

ScamBuster's AI-powered detection tools are designed to assist in identifying potential scams. However, we do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of scam identification or analysis
  • That all scams will be detected, or that no false positives or false negatives will occur
  • That the Services will detect all emerging or novel forms of fraudulent activity

10.2 : User Responsibility

Your use of the Services is at your own risk. You agree to independently verify any alerts, warnings, or reports generated by the Services before taking action. We recommend cross-referencing outputs with official sources, regulatory guidance, and other trusted tools.

10.3 : Technical Limitations

The Services may be affected by human or technical errors, network outages, third-party service disruptions, and other factors beyond our control. We are not responsible for any failures or inaccuracies arising from such factors.

11.1 : Privacy Policy

12.2 : Payment Terms

By subscribing to or purchasing any paid feature, you agree to the following:

  • Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated at the point of purchase or required by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction
  • Subscription fees are charged at the intervals (monthly, half-yearly or annual) specified at the time of purchase
  • We may update pricing with reasonable prior notice to Users
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or downgrade of premium or Business features

12.3 : Billing and Authorisation

You authorise us to charge your selected payment method for all applicable subscription fees and taxes. You are responsible for maintaining accurate and current billing information. We are not liable for any losses arising from incorrect billing information provided by you.

12.4 : Enterprise and Business Billing

Billing terms for ScamBuster for Business may be governed by a separate enterprise agreement. In the absence of such an agreement, the terms in this Section 11 apply.

The Services are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mitt Arv expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and uninterrupted availability.

13.2 : No Liability for Scams or Losses

Mitt Arv is not responsible for:

  • Scams or fraudulent activities that occur despite your use of ScamBuster
  • Any financial losses, identity theft, or damages resulting from scams
  • Actions taken or not taken by you in reliance on alerts, warnings, or reports generated by the Services
  • The accuracy or completeness of community-reported scam information

13.3 : Third-Party Services and Links

The Services may integrate with, or link to third-party services, websites, or applications. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of such third-party services and do not endorse them.

13.4 : Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mitt Arv, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, profits, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Services. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

13.5 : Aggregate Liability Cap

Where liability cannot be fully excluded by law, our aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to Mitt Arv in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100 (or equivalent in local currency).

  • Unauthorised use of your account by Authorised Users or third parties
  1. Modification and Termination

15.1 : Modification of Terms

Mitt Arv reserves the right to modify, update, or amend these Terms at any time. Where changes are material, we will notify you via in-app notification, email, or a notice on our website at least 14 days before the changes take effect (except where changes are required for legal or security reasons, in which case we may provide shorter notice). Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15.2 : Modification of Services

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services — including features, functionality, or availability of the Chrome Extension, Business dashboard, or mobile app — at our sole discretion, with or without notice. We will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice of material discontinuities.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at scambuster@mittarv.com or through the account settings in the application or website. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any prepaid subscription fees.

15.4 : Termination by Mitt Arv

Mitt Arv reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at any time, without notice, if you:

  • Violate these Terms or any applicable law
  • Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or prohibited conduct
  • Pose a security or operational risk to the Services or other users
  • Provide false or misleading registration information

15.5 : Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to access and use the Services immediately ceases. We may, at our discretion, delete account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 8, 12, 13, and 16, shall continue in full force and effect.

  1. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

17.1 : Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising from or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply and afford you greater protections, those laws shall apply to that extent.

17.2 : Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@scambuster.app to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We will use reasonable efforts to resolve the matter amicably within 30 days of receiving your complaint.

17.3 : Formal Dispute Resolution

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore under the Arbitration Rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC Rules"), which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference into this clause. The seat of arbitration shall be Singapore. The language of the arbitration shall be English. The tribunal shall consist of one arbitrator.

17.4 : Injunctive Relief

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek emergency or interim injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information pending the outcome of arbitration

  1. Miscellaneous Provisions

18.1 : Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable enterprise agreement or Data Processing Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mitt Arv with respect to the Services and supersede all prior and contemporaneous communications, representations, and agreements.

18.2 : Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

18.3 : Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing to be effective.

18.4 : Assignment

You may not assign, transfer, or delegate your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Mitt Arv may assign these Terms or any rights hereunder to any affiliate or successor entity, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, without your consent.

18.5 : Force Majeure

Mitt Arv shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance arising from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, pandemic, government orders, internet or network failures, or third-party service provider outages.

18.6 : Survival

Sections 7.3, 8, 12, 13, 16, and this Section 17 shall survive any expiration or termination of these Terms and your account.

18.7 : Language

These Terms are drafted in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using any part of the Services including the ScamBuster mobile application, the scambuster.app website, the Chrome Extension, or ScamBuster for Business — you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy
  • You understand the limitations and disclaimers applicable to the Services
  • You accept the limitations of liability set out herein
  • You will use the Services only for lawful and permitted purposes
  • You understand that the Services are a preventative tool and do not guarantee protection against all scams or fraudulent activity
